What even is hydrocolloid?
It's the same material hospitals have used in wound dressings for decades. On a pimple, it draws surface fluid upward into the patch (that's why it turns white) while sealing the spot off from your fingers. Simple physics, borrowed from medicine.
I wore one overnight and nothing happened. Is it broken?
Probably not — it just means there wasn't surface fluid to absorb. Patches work on whiteheads with visible fluid near the top. On deep, cystic bumps under the skin, there's nothing near the surface to draw out, so the patch stays clear. That's normal, not defective.
How long do I actually leave it on?
At least 6 hours — overnight is ideal. Hydrocolloid absorption is gradual, so peeling it off after an hour to "check" interrupts the process. If it's turned white and opaque, it's saturated: peel it off and apply a fresh one if the spot needs more time.
Be honest — how long does shipping take?

Will this work on my deep, painful cystic acne?
Honestly? Probably not much. Cystic bumps sit deep under the skin with nothing near the surface for the patch to absorb. Patches shine on surface whiteheads. For recurring cystic acne, that's a dermatologist conversation — a patch won't hurt, but it won't solve it either.
Can I wear these under makeup?
